The Umpqua Community College Men's Basketball program is pleased to announce the signing of Brock Gilbert, a 5'8 Point Guard from Syracuse High School in Utah. Gilbert had a standout season with the Titans this past year winning multiple awards and being atop many individual statistical categories. Brock was 1st in scoring (20pts), assists (7.1), and 3 point field goal averages in Utah's 6A classification. He was also 7th in steals (2.4) and 8th in rebounds (7.1). All this was capped off by Brock being named in the All-State 2nd team.
Head Coach Daniel Leeworthy had this to say about Gilbert, "Brock was someone we targeted in recruiting almost a year ago. We knew Brock would be a great fit, and someone that has deep ties to our team. He brings competitive toughness, talent, and IQ to our program. He has a will to win and will do whatever is necessary for the betterment of the team. He will fit in perfectly to our championship culture and standard of excellence on and off the court."
The RiverHawks are coming off of an 18-11 campaign and a third place finish in the Southern Region.
