The UCC Men's Basketball Program is pleased to announce the signings of Tucker Peterson and Tyler Marz from Desert Hills High School located in Southern Utah. Tucker, a 6'3 guard, led the team in scoring, averaging 13.5 points, and 8.4 rebounds. During the last 6 games he averaged 19 points and had a 21 rebound outing vs. Green Canyon on February 18th, 2018. He was also named to the All-Region team, as well as being named 3rd Team All-State.
Marz, a 6'7" forward, averaged 7 points, and 5 rebounds. He had a career high 20 points vs. Salem Hills, the 4A State Champion.
Coach Leeworthy had this to say about the signings, "Tucker is a tough wing who is a versatile scorer. He can shoot, drive, and is an above the rim finisher. He can also defend multiple positions. Tyler brings a huge upside who can become a premier player in this league. His ability to make athletic plays, and play on both ends of the floor is special. Both student athletes embody everything that we love; Toughness, character, coachablity, high academics, and talent. Both have a bright future here at UCC."
