THREE RIVERHAWKS MOVE ON TO PLAY AT 4-YEAR SCHOOLS

Former RiverHawks Jake Sampson, Aaron Dolny, and Jake Estep recently signed letters of intent to play for their respective new schools.

Jake Sampson signed with NCAA Division 2 powerhouse Westminster College in his native Utah.  Sampson played 2 years for UCC where he averaged just under 14 points per contest.  As a freshman he led the NWAC in 3-point percentage with 52.1%.

Coach Leeworthy had this to say about Jake Sampson, "Jake will do great at Westminster, I believe it's a great fit for him.  I used to Coach in the RMAC, and we have had players transfer from UCC to that conference who have been very successful.  He will fit in perfectly there and their system playing for Coach Parrish."

Aaron Dolny, the native of Australia signed with NAIA Lawrence Tech University in Michigan.  Dolny averaged just under 7 points as a sophomore and shot over 41% from 3's for the RiverHawks.

Coach Leeworthy had this to say about Aaron, "Aaron was a fantastic competitor for us.  He is more than the prototypical 3 and D guy because he is athletic and can finish at the rim.  He will excel at LTU and in the future."

Jake Estep of Beaverton, Oregon signed with NCAA Division 3 Whittier College.  Estep averaged over 12 points in a little over 23 minutes per game in his lone season at Umpqua.

Coach Leeworthy had this to say about Estep, "Jake is a great scorer with a strong body.  He had some big games for us and was a team player.  His experience at the 4 year level will help him to hit the ground running and be successful from day 1 there."

Both Sampson and Dolny finish their careers at Umpqua with a 40-17 win/loss record.
