Renate Richardson, a native of Newburg, Missouri, enters her 4th season as the Head Coach for Obstacle Course Racing, and her 6th season as an Assistant for Track & Field and Cross Country. She competed 4 years collegiately under current Umpqua Community College Head Track and Field Coach, Alan King. She competed 4 years collegiately in basketball and track & field, and 2 years in cross country. Currently, she competes in obstacle course races and some track & field events.

Richardson, a Culver-Stockton College graduate (‘18) is the school record holder for the 3,000m steeplechase and can be found on the top 10 list of 9 other events between indoor and outdoor track, and on the top 10 list for the 4k, 5k, and 6k in cross country. Richardson competed in all but 2 track and field events during her career, while also playing basketball and running cross country.

Prior to her college career, Richardson was a sprinter and hurdler at Newburg High School, where she received All-Conference, All-District, and All-Sectional honors, as well as being a two-time State Qualifier in the 300m hurdles. Richardson was a 4-year varsity letter winner in basketball, track & field, and softball. In her athletic career she also played football for a year, and dabbled in soccer.

Richardson graduated cum laude and received a Bachelor of Science degree in Legal Studies/Pre-Law with a minor in Criminal Justice. She likes to spend her free time with her two Dalmatians, Paisley and Pi.
