Five Athletes Join RiverHawk Track and Field

Head Track and Field Coach Alan King is excited to announce the signing of five new athletes to compete for the RiverHawks in the 2019-20 season.

 

Marcus Roldan Sosa, a senior from Chula Vista, CA, has signed with Umpqua Community College to jump for the RiverHawks.

 

"Marcus is a hard-working athlete that will make a great addition to our jumps," said Head Coach Alan King. "We are excited to have him continue to develop our program in the jumps." Marcus jumps 6-2 in high jump, 40-5.5 in triple jump, and 20-3 in long jump.

 

Marcus is the son of Maureena DiMarzio and Roldan Sosa. When asked to comment, he said "I am very thankful to receive this opportunity. I can't wait to be a part of this team. Looking forward to everything, especially my new track family."

 

Jakob Cox, a senior from Kealakehe High School, HI, has signed with Umpqua Community College to pole vault for the RiverHawks.

 

"Jakob is a talented athlete that is driven and ready to make an impact," said Head Coach Alan King. "We look forward to adding him to our mix of skilled pole vaulters." Jakob is an 11-6 pole vaulter that shows a lot of potential as he improves each meet.

 

Jakob is the son of Nona Jin-Duggan and Jeff Duggan. When asked to comment, Jakob said, "I am extremely excited to be pole vaulting again and I can't wait to meet my new ohana/team."

 

India Dishman, a senior from Glide High School, OR, has signed with Umpqua Community College to throw for the RiverHawks. ``

 

"India has a great work ethic with talent that should transfer well into college athletics," said Coach King. "She will come in and contribute immediately to the throws program." India currently holds personal bests of 124-1.75 ft. in discus and placed 6th at state as a junior.

 

India is the daughter of Lynn and Jason Dishman. When asked to comment, India said, "I'm very excited to continue my track career as a RiverHawk. I am looking forward to good times and new pr's. Go Hawks!!"

 

Tyler Lindsay, a senior from Camas Valley High School, OR, has signed with Umpqua Community College to run cross country and track."

 

"Tyler is a great kid that will step in and give us solid depth to our young squad," said Head Coach Alan King. "We are expecting him to have an immediate impact on our culture and future."

 

Tyler is the son of Nanie and Craig Clement. When asked to comment, Tucker said, "I would like to thank Coach King and the staff members at UCC for the help and the encouragement. It is an honor and privilege to now be a part of the UCC Cross Country and Track team."

 

Kinyah Williams, a senior from Adelanto High School, CA, has signed with Umpqua Community College to run track for the RiverHawks. ``

 

"Kinyah is a talented young lady that will contribute to our hurdle squad," said Coach King. "With her current performances, she should be a point contributor in the hurdling events as well as high jump." Kinyah boast a personal bests of 15.40 in the 100m hurdles, 46.29 in the 300m hurdles, and 5-0 ft in the high jump.

 

Kinyah is the daughter of Jessica Collins. When asked to comment, Kinyah said, "I am very excited and thankful to have received this opportunity."
