Tristan Wood
Title: Volunteer Cross Country/Distance Coach

The RiverHawk Track & Field program welcomes alumni Tristan Wood back as a volunteer coach. Coach Wood will assist with cross country and distance track.

Tristan was part of the 2018-19 inaugural team as a freshman in track and field, primarily in the 400, 800, and 4x400m relay. During that season he helped the 4x400m relays team place 8th at the 2019 NWAC Championships in a time of 3:33.46, which is the current school record. In fall of 2019, Tristan joined the cross country team to focus more on distance running. Since the 2020 track and field season was canceled due to the covid-19 pandemic, Tristan opted to stay another year at UCC, where he ran both cross country and track and field. Tristan finished 9th at the XC South Region Championships during the 2020-21 season. While at UCC Tristan had personal bests of 4:30.37 in the 1500m, 2:02.25 in the 800m, and 54.57 in the 400m, and 28:29.3 in the XC 8k. Based on the current top 10 performances by UCC athletes Tristan is ranked #2 in 800m, #4 in 1500m, and #9 in XC (8k).

After UCC, Tristan Wood earned a scholarship to NAIA Lewis-Clark State College in Lewiston, Idaho where he graduated from in 2023. While competing at LCSC, Tristan had personal best times of 4:26.60 in the 1500, 4:48.50 in the Mile, 10:01.39 in the 3000m, 21:11.3 in the XC 6k, and 28:18.1 in the XC 8k. Tristan earned his bachelor's degree in business management and a minor in marketing while attending LCSC.

We are very excited that Tristan has come back home to Roseburg and now has the chance to work with our cross country and distance athletes. He was a great influence on our team while attending UCC and will make a great leader to the program as we continue building our distance crew. Tristan will also be coaching the cross country team at Sutherlin High School.
