Women's Basketball Adds Wood

Umpqua Community College Women’s Basketball Coach Dave Stricklin has announced that Adrienne Wood, a 5’3 point guard from Eagle Point High School has signed a Letter of Intent to compete with the Riverhawks during the 2017-18 season.

Wood, who graduated from Eagle Point in 2016 averaged 21.2 points per game as a Senior along with 3.1 assists and 1.5 steals. She holds six different scoring records at EPHS including most points in a game (35 vs. Ridgeview) and most three pointers in a game (9 vs. Marist).

For her efforts, Wood was twice named 1st Team All Midwestern League and was named 2nd Team All State (5A) as a Senior.

Coach Stricklin had this to say about his newest signee: “Adrienne looks small in stature but she is deceptively strong and has NBA range both off the catch and off the dribble. Her dad is a long time boy’s basketball coach and like most coach’s kids, Adrienne has grown up in a gym and has a great basketball I.Q. She has the chance to be a difference maker for us
