RiverHawks Win Tournament Title

The Umpqua Women's basketball team travelled to Lower Columbia College for the LCC Holiday Classic and came away with the tournament championship.

The tournament began with an 84-75 win over Yakima Community College. Bria Thames led the RiverHawks with 25 points and 12 rebounds, followed by Taylor Stricklin with 22 points and Jordan Stotler with a double/double of 19 points and 17 rebounds.

Game number 2 saw the RiverHawks defeat Centralia College 65-48. The RiverHawks were led in scoring by Taylor Stricklin with 25 points and Jordan Stotler with a double/double of 18 points and 12 rebounds.

The championship match-up was a re-match between North Idaho and the RiverHawks, with North Idaho looking to exact revenge from a previous defeat. The RiverHawks trailed early then ran to a 22 point lead, only to hold on to win 74-70. The RiverHawks were led in scoring by Bria Thames with 22 points, Taylor Stricklin with 22 points and Merrily Jones chipped in with 16 points and 11 rebounds.

With the victories, Umpqua moves to 13-0 on the year.
