Women's Basketball Adds Gladstone Multi-Sport Standout

Umpqua Community College Women's Basketball is excited to announce the signing of 5'9" Grace Campbell of Gladstone High School in Gladstone, Oregon.

Campbell is a three-sport standout at Gladstone, being named as a two-time Tri-Valley Conference 1st team selection and the league's Player of the Year for 2017 in soccer, the Class 4A Girl's Long Jump State Champion in 2017, Tri-Valley League Player of the Year in 2017 and a 3-time All-State selection in basketball.

Head Coach Dave Stricklin expects Campbell to make an immediate impact and play a significant role on a program that had eight sophomores on a team that reached the championship final of the Northwest Athletic Conference tournament and finished the season with a 31-2 record.

"Not only is Grace going to fill a big void in terms of production, but the thing that I like about her is what she brings from a maturity and leadership standpoint," Stricklin said. "Because we're going to be so young, we need somebody who plays and acts a little bit older than what she really is.
