State Champion Joins RiverHawks

Umpqua Community College Men's Wrestling Coach Kyle Temple has announced the signing of Tillamook product Caleb Werner for the 2019/2020 season.

Caleb was a class 4A 170 pound state champion this season for the Mook wrestling team after placing 6th at 160 pounds in 2018 and 6th at 145 pounds in 2017 for the Mooks. "Caleb had an incredibly positive energy that poured over to his teammates during the state tournament this season. I watched him pick up fellow teammates that suffered tough losses, while guiding himself towards that ultimate goal of not only winning an individual title but also leading his team to the class 4A State Title," said coach Temple.

"Caleb will fit well into our middleweights for the 2019/2020 season. He is tall and strong and has a solid fundamental base that will help him be successful in college wrestling. I am excited to see how his style translates to the collegiate level where I believe Caleb will be an absolute monster on top. This is a great signing for the RiverHawk wrestling program as Caleb brings in a great work ethic after being built Mook tough!"
