RiverHawks Sign Two-Time State Runner-Up

UCC men's wrestling coach Kyle Temple has announced the signing of Cascade Senior High School standout Macoy Christman.

Christman was a two time State Runner-Up during his prep career at Cascade Senior High School in Turner, Oregon. Macoy competed at 220 pounds during his junior campaign going 47-7 and finishing 2nd in the OSAA Class 4A State Tournament to teammate Louie Sanchez.

During Macoy's senior campaign he went 42-4 at 195 pounds en route to a 2nd place finish at the OSAA 4A State Championships. Macoy will help fill a role for the RiverHawk wrestling program at 197 pounds for the 2019-2020 season.

Coach Temple stated he was happy to have Macoy join the RiverHawk wrestling program.

"He comes from a strong wrestling program. Macoy has been wrestling for a long time and was a multiple sport athlete in high school. He brings a versatility to our line-up that will help him be successful immediately. He is big and athletic and may eventually get down to 184 pounds but for now we are looking at Macoy to fight for the starting spot at 197 pounds in our line-up. I am pleased to create a connection with a program like Cascade and Coach Jason Lovell. Coach Lovell has prepared Macoy for this journey, being a former 197 pound wrestler for Oregon State himself. Macoy will benefit from having a workout partner of coach Lovell's caliber for the past 4 years and will know how to wrestle a tough style that is aggressive and pushes his opponents around," said Temple.
