South Umpqua's Slay Joins RiverHawks

Head Cross Country and Track and Field Coach Alan King, is excited to announce the signing of South Umpqua High School's Savannah Slay, to participate in Cross Country and Track and Field for the RiverHawks.

Slay qualified for the 2017 OSAA 4A State Championships finishing in the top spot on the Lancers, who finished 8th, overall. Slay posted a season best of 20:16. In track and field, Slay has run an 11:48 3000 meters and a 5:30 1500 meters.

Coach King had this to say about the signing of Slay," Savannah will add depth to the top of our cross country program and throughout our distance events in track. We are excited to have another local athlete compete for us."
