White Signs with Umpqua Volleyball

The Umpqua RiverHawk volleyball team would like to announce the signing of 5’8” setter, Zhane White, from Hoonah, Alaska. White led her Mt. Edgecumbe High School volleyball team to the Alaska State Championship in 2016 and 2014, along with a 3rd place finish in 2015.

She was named to the All-State Tournament team on two separate occasions, as well as being named the 2016 Best Setter at the 3A State Tournament. She has also twice been named to the Region V Southeast Alaska All-Tournament Team and is a four time Region V Champion.

UCC Head Coach Lacy Pinard had this to say about the signing of White,”Zhane will be a wonderful addition to our RiverHawk offense for the 2017 season. Her ability to handle pressure during intense competition will make her a valuable asset to Umpqua volleyball.”

Umpqua volleyball is coming off of a 28-23 season and a pair of victories in the Northwest Athletic Conference Championship Tournament.

Umpqua’s Department of Athletics is composed of nine varsity sports teams including three men's teams (basketball, cross country, and wrestling), and four women's teams (basketball, cross country, and volleyball).
