The Umpqua RiverHawks volleyball team grabbed a five game victory over New Hope Christian College, in UCC's 2018 home opener.
The RiverHawks were down two games to one after losing the first and third games by the score of 25-23 in both games, while winning the second 28-26.
Umpqua battled to grab the fourth game 25-20 and cruised to a 15-7 win in the final game to seal the match.
Freshman Amiyah Shakoor (Portland, Or.) led the RiverHawks with 16 kills, followed by Emma Lind (So. Myrtle Creek, Or.), with 14.
Madison Becker (So., Flagstaff, AZ.), paced UCC with 42 assists and 3 service aces. With the win, the RiverHawks move to 8-9 on the year and travel to Vancouver, Washington to play the Penguins of Clark College.
