The Umpqua Community College Cross Country team opened up their 2018-19 season at the Ash Creek Collegiate Invitational meet in Monmouth, Oregon. The RiverHawk Men finished 9th overall, while the RiverHawk Women finished 7th.
The men's team was paced by freshman Derek O'Connor, who finished in the 39th position, and 8th in the community college division, followed by freshman Nakai Sinohui who was 48th and 13th, respectively.
The women's team was led by freshman Savannah Slay who finished 41st overall and 3rd in the community college division. She was followed by freshman Jaysie Fox who was 47th and 7th amongst the community colleges.
The RiverHawks are off until they travel to St. Martin's University on September 22nd.
