Renate Richardson, a native of Newburg, Missouri, has been an integral part of Umpqua Community College since 2018. She recently transitioned into the full-time role of Athletic Promotions Coordinator, combining the duties in sports information, marketing, and digital strategy to enhance the visibility of UCC Athletics. Renate has had a strong connection to sports for many years and is excited to take on this role and bring UCC Athletics to a new light in the digital world.

In addition to her new position, Renate continues to serve as the Assistant Coach for Track & Field and Cross Country, focusing on sprinters, hurdlers, and cross country runners. She also leads as the Head Coach for Obstacle Course Racing.

Renate's coaching career at UCC began in the 2018-19 academic year. Before joining UCC, she was a multi-sport athlete at Culver-Stockton College, competing in basketball, track & field, and cross country. She holds the school record for the 3,000m steeplechase and appears on the top 10 lists for multiple other events, as well as the 4k, 5k, and 6k in cross country. Her versatility extended to participating in all but two track and field events during her collegiate career. Prior to college, Renate excelled at Newburg High School as a sprinter and hurdler, earning All-Conference, All-District, and All-Sectional honors in multiple sports, and was a two-time State Qualifier in the 300m hurdles. She was a four-year varsity letter winner in basketball, track & field, and softball.

Academically, Renate graduated cum laude from Culver-Stockton College in 2018 with a Bachelor of Science in Legal Studies/Pre-Law and a minor in Criminal Justice. She furthered her education by earning a Master of Science in Sport Administration from Arkansas State University with a 4.0gpa, a program accredited by the Commission on Sport Management Accreditation (COSMA).

In her free time, Renate enjoys spending time with her two Dalmatians, Paisley and Pi.
