     The Umpqua Community College Department of Athletics is excited to announce the hiring of Jeremiah Robbins as the Head Coach for the RiverHawk baseball program. Coach Robbins comes to Umpqua from Lewis and Clark State, in Lewiston, Idaho, a national baseball powerhouse.

     Robbins enters his fourth year at the helm of the UCC baseball program.

     Robbins has an overall record of 256-63 at Lewis and Clark State. He has led the Warriors to the NAIA championship game in each of his previous five seasons, winning the national title the in 2015, ’16 and ’17. LCSC's 2017 victory was the Warriors 19th in program history.

     Prior to LCSC, Robbins coached at Western Oregon from 2006-12. While at Western Oregon, he compiled a 252-109 record, including a 170-34 record in the Great Northwest Athletic Conference (NCAA D-II). Robbins has been named ABCA National Coach of the Year in 2015, 2016 and 2017, along with NAIA National Coach of the Year in 2015 and 2016. In all, Robbins has received 25 different Coach of the Year Awards from various recognizing bodies.

     A native of Winston, Ore., Robbins played baseball at Douglas High School and then a year at College of the Redwoods. He played the next season at Southwestern Oregon Community College, and spent his final two seasons playing at Western Oregon. He earned all-conference honors as a catcher with the Wolves in 1998.
He started his coaching career at Southwestern Oregon CC and spent two seasons in Coos Bay. He then spent two years at Douglas High School, where his teams won back-to-back Far West League championships. From Douglas, Coach Robbins began his tenure at Western Oregon University.
Robbins, who earned a Bachelor’s degree from Eastern Oregon University, will also be Assistant Director of Athletic Facilities for UCC, to go along with his coaching duties.
