Rippingham is from Reno High School, in Reno, Nevada, where he was named as a High Desert League First-Team selection. He also received Honorable Mention All-State from the Las-Vegas Review Journal.

The multi-talented guard averaged nearly 14 points per game while grabbing 3 rebounds and dishing out 3 assists. He finished the season shooting over 37% from the 3-pt line. His team finished 22-7 on the year.
