Former RiverHawk Signs Professionally

Former UCC RiverHawk Kolten Mortensen out of Santaquin, Utah signed his first professional contract this week.  Kolten is bound for Germany to play for the BBC Coburg Club team in the Bundesliga Pro B league.  Recently, Kolten signed with agent Zach Hoffman who is based out of Las Vegas, Nevada.

Mortensen played two seasons with the RiverHawks from 2018-2020.  He averaged 14. 4 points, nearly 60% Fg's, and 39.8% from the 3 point line in only 20 minutes of action.  He left UCC with a 45-15 win/loss record.  After UCC, Mortensen transferred the NCAA Division II institution South Dakota School of Mines where due to a Covid season played 3 seasons and garnered all-conference honors for 3 straight seasons in the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference.  Across his 3 seasons in South Dakota he averaged almost 13 points and 7 rebounds while shooting 45% from 3's. Mortensen had this to say about achieving his goal of playing professionally, "I'm really looking forward to starting my professional career in Germany and am so grateful for the things I learned and skills I developed while at UCC."  Coach Leeworthy also added, "Kolten was an absolute pleasure to Coach.  He worked so hard, so it's no surprise he is playing professionally.  He is a winner, and did everything necessary to win.  He was the ultimate competitor and teammate, he will do well over there."

Kolten Mortensen becomes the 36th player Coach Leeworthy has coached to play professionally.
