Title: | General Manager of Alumni Relations for Men's Basketball |
Born locally in Roseburg, Darren attended UCC basketball camps every summer as a kid. After graduating HS, he played @ UCC in ’05-06 under Donell Morgan, winning the Outstanding Student-Athlete award his sophomore year (his younger brother Kellen also played at UCC). Their mother, Donna Spicer, has also taught music at UCC for the past decade.
After graduating from the University of Oregon with a degree in Sports Marketing, Darren worked in the NBA for the Sacramento Kings. He then pursued a prosperous career in medical device sales, and most recently founded CLUTCH Coffee Bar, a drive-thru coffee chain with more than 15 locations in the Carolinas.
UCC helped provide Darren with key life skills both on and off the court. He firmly believes in helping the next generation benefit from having the same opportunities at UCC, and he’s committed to helping support the program through philanthropic efforts and building relationships.
Darren, his wife Cristen and two kids, Carter and Colton, reside in Granite Bay, CA. They return to Oregon regularly to visit family, support the UCC program, and catch Oregon Duck games in the fall. To connect directly with Darren, please contact him at:
