Two Runners Set to Join RiverHawks

Umpqua Community College Cross Country/Track & Field have announced the signing of two new athletes for the fall of 2019.

 

Tucker Clement, a senior from Sutherlin High School, OR, has signed with Umpqua Community College to run cross country and track. ``

 

"Tucker is a great kid that is really striving for a good senior track campaign" said Head Coach Alan King. "He has the potential to continue to develop and will help us in our team dynamics as we look forward for improved successes."

 

Tucker is the son of Nanie and Craig Clement. When asked to comment, Tucker said, "I would like to thank Coach King and the staff members at UCC for the help and the encouragement. It is an honor and privilege to now be a part of the UCC Cross Country and Track team."

 

Carson Austin, a senior from South Albany High School, OR, has signed with Umpqua Community College to run cross country and track. Austin has personal records of 16:53 in the 5k, 4:26 in the 1500m, and 9:47 for the 3,000m run.

 

"Carson is another quality athlete signed to the program," said Head Coach Alan King. "He is passionate and works hard, these are key elements to our future successes."

 

Carson is the son of Jennifer and Thomas Austin. When asked to comment, Carson said, "It's been a long journey finding the place I want to continue my running career and I'm excited to be a new addition to the team."
