Three New Athletes Set to Join RiverHawk Track and Field

Umpqua Community College Head Track and Field/Cross Country Coach Alan King has announced the signing of three new athletes for the 2019-20 season. 

Jaelin Hotz

Jaelin Hotz, a senior from Eatonville, WA, has signed with Umpqua Community College to jump for the RiverHawks Track and Field team. 

"Jaelin will provide more depth to our jumps," said Head Coach Alan King. "Jaelin has a personal best of 35-4.5ft in the triple jump, which would place her well in our conference." She also has a personal best of 14-11.5ft in the long jump. "What impresses us is that she has improved each year and has the work ethic to continue to improve." 

Jaelin is the daughter of Jeanette and Jesse Hotz and is a three time state qualifier in the triple jump for Eatonville High School.

 

Damarion Carter

Damarion Carter, a senior from Yakima, WA, has signed with Umpqua Community College to sprint for RiverHawks Track and Field team. 

"Damarion is a solid sprinter that will make a great addition to our team," said Head Coach Alan King. "With Damarion we will be able to build a strong base within our sprints crew." Damarion has personal bests of 11.38 in the 100m and 22.90 in the 200m. 

Damarion is the son of Tiona Carter. When asked to comment, Damarion said, "I signed with UCC for a chance to get to the next level on and off of the track."

 

Jasmine Lake

Jasmine Lake, a senior from Nenena, AK, has signed with Umpqua Community College to run for RiverHawks Cross Country and Track and Field teams. 

"Jasmine is a multi-sport athlete that has excelled in various sports and events, " said Head Coach Alan King. "She has the capabilities of making an immediate impact on the RiverHawk teams." Jasmine has a personal best of 21:48 in the 5K. 

Jasmine is the daughter of Joseph Lake and Inez Joseph, and while at Nenena was under the care of Wanda and Milt Haken. When asked to comment, Jasmine said, "I have never been so excited and scared at the same time. With the swish of my mighty pen my running and college career has been placed in the hands of Umpqua and their talented coaches. "
