UCC Men’s Wrestling Signs Henley Wrestler

The Umpqua RiverHawk Men’s Wrestling Program is excited to announce the signing of Christian Perez, from Henley High School, in Klamath Falls, Oregon. Perez is a multi-sport athlete from a wrestling team that finished 8th place in the 2017 OSAA State Championship.

UCC Men’s Wrestling Head Coach Kyle Temple had this to say about the signing of Perez,” We are excited to add Christian Perez to help fill out our line-up at either 157 or 165 pounds next fall. Christian comes from Henley High School and has been a part of 4 OSAA 4A state placing teams. Christian’s work ethic and drive mesh well with my wrestling and coaching philosophy. I am really looking forward to seeing Christian compete for the RiverHawks, and seeing what he will accomplish before his time here is complete.”

The Umpqua Wrestling team has been brought back to the Roseburg, Oregon campus, and will begin competition in the fall of 2017.

Umpqua’s Department of Athletics is composed of nine varsity sports teams including four men's teams (basketball, cross country, wrestling and obstacle course racing), and five women's teams (basketball, cross country, volleyball, wrestling and obstacle course racing). Umpqua is a member of the Northwest Athletic Conference in all sports except men’s and women’s wrestling and obstacle course racing. For men’s wrestling UCC belongs to the National Junior College Athletic Association and for women’s wrestling, the Women’s Collegiate Wrestling Association.
