Bergmann is a 2016 graduate of Roseburg High School, where he was a multi-sport athlete. Bergmann participated in football for 3 years and was a 4-year varsity letterman in track and field, where he served as the Team Captain for his senior season.

He is also an outstanding student, graduating in the Top 10% of his class. Head RiverHawk Obstacle Course Racing Coach Andrea Bowden had this to say about the signing of Bergmann,” Jakob is an outstanding athlete who will excel in obstacle course racing. He has a very good work ethic and will really enjoy competing at a high level. We are excited to add him to our program.”
