Umpqua Community College finished second at the NAIA Oregon Women's State Championship at Southern Oregon University on Sunday, behind a winning performance from 116-pounder Mariah Annis (116).
Annis pinned Pacific University's LeNae Fay in 1:50 and won by 10-0 technical fall over Macie Stewart.
Cassandra Tongi won the 155-pound competition with three wins by fall and one win by technical fall. Tongi wrestled as an unattached wrestler because she was unable to wrestle for the Riverhawks.
Moira Sheldon (130-136), who's on the UCC roster but did not compete for the Riverhawks in Sunday's competition, finished second. Sheldon defeated teammate Laura Ekada by 10-0 technical fall, fell to Joessie Gonzalez in 1:05 and pinned teammate Alejandra Galindo in 1:14.
Ekada finished third and Galindo was fourth.
Melissa Jacobs (143), a UCC student who is red-shirting this year, finished second.
Jordyn White (123) finished fourth. She won two matches and dropped two. Lejeune (170) also dropped three matches to finish fourth.
