Umpqua Adding Softball for the 24-25 season- Strinz Appointed to Coach

[Roseburg, Oregon] — Umpqua Community College (UCC) announces the appointment of Jami Strinz as the head coach of the UCC softball program as the team prepares to compete for the first time during the 2024-25 season. Jami Strinz brings a wealth of experience and a deep passion for the sport of softball to UCC.

Strinz, a native of Pleasant Hill, OR, currently serves as the Student Support Advocate for the district at Pleasant Hill High School and is actively involved in coaching in both the high school softball and volleyball programs. She is also the CEO, Director of Recruiting, and a coach in the PNW Shamrocks travel softball program.

With over 20 years of experience in college athletics, Strinz has made significant contributions to various softball programs, including Creighton University, Western Oregon University, Portland State University, George Fox University, and NWAC rival Chemeketa Community College. Her expertise extends beyond coaching, encompassing NCAA Compliance, facilities and event management, academic advising, and a role as a volleyball coach at several colleges and universities.

Strinz's own softball journey began at Pleasant Hill High School, where her exceptional skills earned her a scholarship to NCAA Division I Bradley University in Peoria, IL. After her college career, she, along with her sister, Sami, were selected to Ireland's National Team, where Jami served as a Pitcher and team captain for two years. Notably, Strinz also competed professionally in the Italian Professional League for the Caggiati in Langhirano, Italy, for one season before transitioning into a full-time coaching career.

Currently residing in Roseburg, Oregon, Jami Strinz shares her life with her partner Steve Williams and their daughter, Sari.
