Three RiverHawks Qualify for NJCAA Indoor Track & Field Nationals

Three RiverHawks have qualified for the NJCAA Indoor Track & Field Nationals to be hosted at Texas Tech University in Lubbock, TX on March 7th and 8th, 2025. Tarron Metz, Taylor Heie, and Troy Hockett, each pole vaulters secured their tickets at the Reno Pole Vault Summit then again at the Lauren McCluskey Invite in Idaho.

Taylor Heie jumped 3.25m/108ft in Reno, then 3.16m/10-4.25ft in Idaho. She was the top junior college athlete at both meets, and won her pit in Reno. Currently, Taylor is ranked 7th in NJCAA. Tarron Metz jumped 4.60m/15-1ft in Reno, then 4.75m/15-7ft in Idaho. Tarron was the top junior college athlete at both meets, he finished 5th overall in Idaho. Troy Hockett jumped 4.40m/14-2.5ft in Reno, then 4.45m/14-7.25ft in Idaho, finishing as the number two junior college athlete, just behind Tarron in both meets, and finished 7th overall in Idaho. Tarron and Troy are currently ranked 2nd and 7th in NJCAA.

The RiverHawks will have two more competitions before they make their way to Texas for NJCAA Indoor Nationals.
