Hawks Run at Ash Creek Open

The RiverHawks Cross Country teams competed at the Ask Creek Collegiate Open at Western Oregon University in Monmouth, OR. The Hawks were short some athletes, so neither the men's or women's teams scored points with 5 athletes. The women fielded 4 and the men fielded 3 athletes. There were 11 other teams competing against the Hawks (74 women, 90 men racers). The women raced a 5k and the men a 6k.

Leading the women was freshman, Bailey Wallack and sophomore, Kristen Thomas with times of 21:10 and 21:44. Bailey was 6th amongst NWAC competitors, and Kristen was 7th. Behind them was Nicole Forristall, in her very first cross country race, after taking time off after graduating high school, she ran a time of 26:41. Dawn Cobb rounded out the Hawks with a time of 28:22.

The men's Hawk squad was lead by sophomore, Attreyu Pinard with a time of 21:01, and finishing 6th amongst NWAC competitors. Freshmen, Connor Deveny and Paul Cervantes rounded out the men's squad with times of 22:34 and 22:39, respectively.

The Hawks will compete again on Saturday, October 1st at the 47th Charles Bowles Invitational at Willamette University in Salem, OR. Go Hawks!
