OCR Ends Fall Season on High Note

The UCC Obstacle Course Racing team competing in their last event of their Fall season on Saturday, December 3rd. The team raced a Spartan Stadion 5k with 20 obstacles at the Oracle Park, home to the San Francisco Giants. The weather was in typical San Francisco fashion with a light rain, cloudy, and fog during the entirety of their race. Overall, the course times were significantly slower from the previous year, mostly due to the slippery concrete and obstacles.

The team ended their Fall season on a great note! With Dawn Cobb placing 3rd in her age group (18-24) with a time of 1:07:09. This was Dawn's first time placing in an obstacle race. Noah Retherford placed 2nd in his age group (18-24) with a time of 39:21. In the overall age group standings amongst all ages and genders, Noah was 22nd of 306 athletes. Coach Richardson took 1st place in her age group (25-29) with a time of 48:13. Last year at this race, Coach Richardson finished 3rd.

The OCR team plans to host the Champions Challenge near the end of the Spring term at UCC. Look out for more news in a couple months!
