Brooklyn Fely Dominates NWAC South Region with Well-Earned Accolades

    

Brooklyn Fely was named NWAC South Region Player of the Year, Defensive Player of the Year, and Freshman of the Year. There is no doubt that Brooklyn has been dominant on the court this season as a true freshman out of Orem, Utah.

The Hawks finished their regular season with a conference record of 13-3 and overall record of 25-4 before they head into playoffs this upcoming weekend. Brooklyn played in 27 of the 28 regular season games. In the NWAC Brooklyn was 2nd in points per game with 20.3 (ranked 1st in the south region), 1st in rebounds per game with 13.1, and 1st in field goal percentage shooting 54.4%. She scored a total of 547 points, grabbed 355 total rebounds (266 defensive and 89 offensive), 79 assists, 41 steals, and 26 blocks.

Along with Brooklyn's accolades, RiverHawk Coach Dave Stricklin was named South Region Coach of the Year. With the conclusion of this 25-4 regular season, Dave has led his teams to 955 wins on his career and looking for more in the upcoming playoffs.

UCC finished the regular season at #2 in south region and will enter playoffs against Yakima Valley (ranked 3rd in the east) on Friday, March 8th at 10:00am hosted by Columbia Basin College in Pasco, Washington.
