Brooklyn Fely Earns NWAC Baden Basketball Player of the Year Award

Umpqua's Brooklyn Fely was named the NWAC's Baden Basketball Players of the Year, the conference office announced on Thursday. The awards were voted on by the conference head coaches.

Fely had one of the best overall seasons in NWAC history as she ranked second with 21.5 points per game and paced the conference with 13.4 rebounds per game. She also averaged 2.8 assists, 1.5 steals and 1.0 blocks per contest.

Fely led the Riverhawks to the NWAC Championship game. Fely was named First Team All-Tournament after leading all players with 120 points, averaging 30. 0 per game. She also averaged nearly 15 rebounds per game, adding 2.0 assists and 1.0 blocks per contest. In the Sweet 16, Fely broke the NWAC tournament single-game points record as she dropped 52 points in an 83-66 win over Yakima Valley. 

Fely will be invited to the NWAC Hall of Fame Banquet on May 30 at the Greater Tacoma Convention Center in Tacoma, Washington, where she will be honored and receive her Baden Player of the Year plaques.
