RiverHawks Sign Four

Umpqua Community College Women's Wrestling is pleased to announce the signing of four new RiverHawks for the 2023-24 season. 

Nina De Leon - Hillsboro, Oregon (Hillsboro High School) 2x District Champion, 3x State qualifier and 1x State Placer, finishing 4th place as a Senior. Nina is also an Oregon National Team Member

Natalie De Leon - Hillsboro, Oregon (Hillsboro High School) Hitting the 100 win mark during her Senior year of high school, Natalie is a 4x State qualifier, 1x State Placer finishing 6th in 2022 and is also an Oregon National Team Member

Vaea LaMoureaux - Reardan, Washington (Reardan-Edwall High School) is a 3 sport athlete competing in Soccer, Wrestling and Softball while maintaining a 3.0 GPA. In wrestling LaMoureaux is a District runner up, Regional runner up, 1x state qualifier and the First female wrestler in school history to qualify for the state tournament.

Gabrielle Shaddy - Filer, Idaho (Filer High School) is a 3 sport athlete competing in Softball, Wrestling and Track and Field - Shaddy's accomplishments on the wrestling mat are Tim Matthews invitational winner, State qualifier finishing her Senior year off with a 5th place finish. 

Director of Wrestling Anthony Weerheim had this to say about the signing of these four new RiverHawks, "We are extremely excited to add these four to our Women's wrestling roster.  Adding this group to our team will bring much needed talent to weight classes that we are graduating sophomores. We look forward to seeing how these four impact our program."
