RiverHawk Cross Country Adds Roseburg Runner

Umpqua Community College Men’s Cross Country is excited to announce the addition of Wayne Jaworski, from Roseburg, Oregon. Jaworski is 2016 graduate of Roseburg High School, where he competed in track and field and cross country for the Indians.

Along with track and field and cross country, Jaworski was state placer in the Skills USA competition and formed the Roseburg Runners Club in 2015. He will be joining his sister Emma on the RiverHawk team.

Head RiverHawk Cross Country Coach CJ Kozlowski had this to say about the signing of Jaworski,” Wayne will be a very good addition to our program. He has a high fitness level and a good background in cross country. We are looking forward to his contributions”

The RiverHawk Cross Country team is returning to the Roseburg, Oregon campus and will begin competition in the fall of 2017.

Umpqua’s Department of Athletics is composed of nine varsity sports teams including four men's teams (basketball, cross country, wrestling and obstacle course racing), and five women's teams (basketball, cross country, volleyball, wrestling and obstacle course racing). Umpqua is a member of the Northwest Athletic Conference in all sports except men’s and women’s wrestling and obstacle course racing. For men’s wrestling UCC belongs to the National Junior College Athletic Association and for women’s wrestling, the Women’s Collegiate Wrestling Association.
