Women's Basketball Caps Off Regular Season with a Win Over Clackamas, Now 29-0

The UCC Women's Basketball team stayed undefeated throughout the regular season as they pulled through with another win tonight against Clackamas Community College with a final score of 86-76. The Hawks also captured their fourth straight Southern Region title.

The RiverHawks were led in scoring by Cielo Gonzalez with a career-high 36 points, followed by Mariam Yaro with 15, Sienna Riggle with 12, and Darian Mitchell with 11. Both Mitchell and Riggle each recorded double-doubles as Mitchell led with 14 rebounds and Riggle 10. Gonzalez shot 14-17 from the free throw line.

The 10 Sophomores (#1 Lainey Rincon, #3 Hunter Boske, #4 Brooklyn Gilbert, #5 Grace Campbell, #10 Sienna Riggle, #20 Desiree Maddern, #24 Kim Ortiz, #25 Cielo Gonzalez, #30 Jalisa Simons, and #52 Darian Mitchell) were recognized tonight for their contribution to the team, school, and community as they played their last home game at UCC. The Hawks, who have been ranked #1 in the NWAC the entire season will enter into playoffs. The 2020 NWAC Basketball Selection Show will take place on Sunday, March 1. Broadcast will be available on the NWACSportsNetwork.com. The WBB show begins at 4pm, and it will be determined who they play and where.
