RiverHawks Sign State Champion

Umpqua Community College Men's Wrestling coach Kyle Temple has announced the signing of Hunter McIrvin. McIrvin comes from Central Linn High School in Brownsville, OR where he was a 2020 Oregon State Champion at 138 pounds for the Cobras. McIrvin finished his career as a three time district champion as well as a three time state placer after taking third as a freshman and winning state titles his sophomore and senior seasons. McIrvin brings a diverse skill set and the blue collar working attitude that Coach Temple looks for in recruiting his athletes. McIrvin is projected to wrestle at 141 pounds for the RiverHawks next season. Coach Temple had the following to say about Hunter McIrvin, "I'm happy to add Hunter to our roster for next season as I expect he will contribute to our team right away. Growing up in a small town Hunter developed a work ethic that extends beyond the mat. I have seen first hand Hunter giving back to his local community as well as the wrestling community. His knowledge of the sport of wrestling extends beyond that of your average athlete. Hunter has also been involved in officiating for several years while coaching with his local mat club. Hunter lives a wrestling lifestyle traveling the country to seek out the best competition in the off season, having been a member of the Oregon National teams that have travelled to the National Duals as well as the National Tournament."
