RiverHawks Sign Three

Umpqua Community College Men's Wrestling is excited to announce the signing of three new RiverHawks for the 2023-2024 season. 

Trey Munn comes to us from Roy, Utah (Sryacuse High School) - Munn lettered twice in wrestling and was a top 10 divisional wrestler. Since graduating in 2022, Munn has been playing around in the world of MMA continuing his development in wrestling skills, while also working heavily on Jiu Jitsu and striking. 

Matix Cooklin comes from Forest Grove, Oregon (Forest Grove High School) - Cooklin's accomplishments in High School were: 3x state qualifier - 2x Hood River Invitational Champion - Tillamook champion - Bob Beisell Invitational Champion and Outstanding Wrestler. 

Logan Chapman comes from Rainier, Oregon (Rainier High School) - Chapman was a two sport athlete for Rainier playing football and wrestling. Before graduating in 2022, Chapman was a 2x state place winner with a 4th place finish as a Sophomore and a 2nd place finish as a senior. Other accomplishments were District Champion - Culver Invitational champion - 2nd Team All State Football. 

Director of Wrestling Anthony Weerheim had this to say about the signing of this group, " This is a group of talented young men with unfinished business on the wrestling mat. I have no doubt that these three will make such a positive impact on our program. We are excited to see growth continue on the Men's roster."
