Umpqua Signs Two for Obstacle Course Racing

The Umpqua Community College (UCC) Department of Athletics is excited to announce the signing of Tristian Brown and Camron Wright for the newly formed Obstacle Course Racing (OCR) program.

Brown is a 2016 graduate of Roseburg High School, in Roseburg, Oregon. Tristian competed in basketball and football for the Indians. He was named to the Honorable Mention All-Conference Team at the linebacker position.

Wright is a 2017 graduate, also from Roseburg High School. He participates in golf and swimming for Roseburg and was a Regional placer in both the 100 meter breaststroke and 50 meter freestyle races.

Head Obstacle Course Racing Coach Andrea Bowden has this to say about her two new athletes,” Both Camron and Tristian are athletic with the capacity to put in large volumes of high quality training. It will be exciting to see them grow in this sport.”

Umpqua’s Department of Athletics is composed of nine varsity sports teams including four men's teams (basketball, cross country, wrestling and obstacle course racing), and five women's teams (basketball, cross country, volleyball, wrestling and obstacle course racing). Umpqua is a member of the Northwest Athletic Conference in all sports except men’s and women’s wrestling and obstacle course racing. For men’s wrestling UCC belongs to the National Junior College Athletic Association and for women’s wrestling, the Women’s Collegiate Wrestling Association.
