RiverHawk Obstacle Course Racing Signs Local Athlete

The Umpqua RiverHawk Obstacle Course Racing program is proud to announce the addition of Isaac Jacobsen, of Winston, Oregon. Jacobsen is a Geneva Academy graduate, where he participated in cross country. Jacobsen is new to OCR but is an avid rock climber.

Umpqua Head OCR Coach Andrea Bowden had this to say about the signing of Jacobsen,” Isaac will be a great addition to our new program. He is a very good athlete, hard worker and is excited about testing his limits.”

Jacobsen will be joining fellow Geneva Academy graduates William Turner and Andrew Paschall, as part of the inaugural OCR Team. The Umpqua Obstacle Course Racing Team is the first of its kind in the country, and will begin racing in the fall of 2017.

Umpqua’s Department of Athletics is composed of nine varsity sports teams including four men's teams (basketball, cross country, wrestling and obstacle course racing), and five women's teams (basketball, cross country, volleyball, wrestling and obstacle course racing). Umpqua is a member of the Northwest Athletic Conference in all sports except men’s and women’s wrestling and obstacle course racing. For men’s wrestling UCC belongs to the National Junior College Athletic Association and for women’s wrestling, the Women’s Collegiate Wrestling Association.
