RiverHawk Women’s Wrestling Signs California Wrestler

Umpqua Community College Women’s Wrestling is excited to announce the addition of Jennifer Molinero, from Alisal High School, in Salinas, California. Molinero is a multi-sport athlete, participating in cross country, basketball, and track and field, as well as wrestling.

Along with being a standout athlete, Molinero is a Lulac Scholarship recipient and a member of the Alisal High School Health Academy and the Salinas First Teen Health Study Youth Advisory Board. In her spare time, she tutors and mentors students at two local elementary schools.

Head RiverHawk Women’s Wrestling Coach Asia DeWees had this to say about the signing of Molinero,” She has a great work ethic, a passion for the sport and a lot of heart. We are very excited and honored to have her as part of our new program.”

The RiverHawk Women’s Wrestling team is brand new to the Roseburg, Oregon campus and will begin competition in the fall of 2017.

Umpqua’s Department of Athletics is composed of nine varsity sports teams including four men's teams (basketball, cross country, wrestling and obstacle course racing), and five women's teams (basketball, cross country, volleyball, wrestling and obstacle course racing). Umpqua is a member of the Northwest Athletic Conference in all sports except men’s and women’s wrestling and obstacle course racing. For men’s wrestling UCC belongs to the National Junior College Athletic Association and for women’s wrestling, the Women’s Collegiate Wrestling Association.
