UCC Cross Country Signs Roseburg Runner

The Umpqua RiverHawk Women’s Cross Country program is excited to announce that Emma Jaworski, from Roseburg High School is joining the team for the fall of 2017. Jawkorski ran for four seasons for Roseburg High School, receiving the Coach’s Award. She is a 2016 graduate of RHS.

Jaworski will be joining former Roseburg teammate, Jenna Anderson at UCC, as the program gets started next August. UCC Cross Country Co-Head Coach Amanda Phillips coached Jaworski at RHS and had this to say about her signing with the RiverHawks,” We are very happy to have Emma be a part of our program. She works very hard and has the potential to be a very solid runner in our program.”

The Umpqua Cross Country team has been brought back to the Roseburg, Oregon campus, and will begin competition in the fall of 2017.

Umpqua’s Department of Athletics is composed of nine varsity sports teams including four men's teams (basketball, cross country, wrestling and obstacle course racing), and five women's teams (basketball, cross country, volleyball, wrestling and obstacle course racing). Umpqua is a member of the Northwest Athletic Conference in all sports except men’s and women’s wrestling and obstacle course racing. For men’s wrestling UCC belongs to the National Junior College Athletic Association and for women’s wrestling, the Women’s Collegiate Wrestling Association.
