Hawks Rally For A Cure

Hawks Rally For A Cure

RiverHawks honor Breast Cancer fighters and survivors at their annual Rally For A Cure game.

Tonight, the RiverHawk Volleyball Family extended their love and support to the brave souls who have fought or are fighting the hard battle with breast cancer. The UCC gym could be seen for miles as a wave of pink covered the gym through decorations and both teams covered head-to-toe in pink. Every fan in the building could be seen walking into the gym wearing their pink to support. A ceremony held between the 2nd and 3rd sets of the match commenced with a speech from Coach Roberts for the honored. She had two women from her family whom she honored tonight as well.

Coach Roberts comments, "This night is very special to me because my mom and aunt are both Breast Cancer survivors. So, being able to remind the team and the community that this fight is important to honor means so much to me. I'm blessed that I get to do this for my family and others."

The RiverHawks are grateful to be able to honor those who have battled with Breast Cancer every year in October. The over-the-top decorating is enough to show how much this night means to the RiverHawk Volleyball Family. Furthermore, the ending score of this game is no match for how this team feels about the survivors and fighters they honor. Be sure to catch the RiverHawks in the rest of their games this month wearing their pink jerseys!
