Edison and Danhoff Moving On

The NWAC Southern Region Champion Umpqua RiverHawk Men’s basketball team is announcing the signing of sophomores Jacob Danhoff and Jouvon Edison.

Danhoff has decided to continue his basketball and academic career at Cal-State Stanislaus. Stanislaus is an NCAA Division 2 school, located in Turlock, California. The Warriors play in the California Collegiate Athletics Association. They were the 2013-14 CCAA Champions.

Edison has signed a letter of intent to continue his career at Valley City State University in Valley City, North Dakota. Valley City is an NAIA institution that plays in the North Star Athletic Association.

The RiverHawk duo were double-figure scorers and the leading rebounders for the Umpqua Men’s Basketball team this season, leading them to the Southern Region Championship and a trip to the NWAC Final Four. They finished the season with a 20-10 record.

They are the 2nd and 3rd players from this years’ team to sign with a four-your schools, joining freshman Grant Ellison.

Umpqua’s Department of Athletics is composed of nine varsity sports teams including three men's teams (basketball, cross country, and wrestling), and four women's teams (basketball, cross country, and volleyball). Umpqua is a member of the Northwest Athletic Conference in all sports except men’s and women’s wrestling and obstacle course racing. For men’s wrestling they belong to the National Junior College Athletic Association and for women’s wrestling, the Women’s Collegiate Wrestling Association.
