Umpqua Men’s Basketball Signs All-State Player from Utah

The 2017 Southern Region Champion Men's Basketball team has signed Marcus Draney, a 6'1" shooting guard from Skyridge High School in Lehi, Utah. Draney averaged 18.7 points per game his senior season, to go along with 6.7 rebounds. He finished the year shooting 48% from the floor and 81% from the free-throw line.

He was named to Utah All State teams on two occasions, to the All Region teams three different times, and All Valley teams three times. He finished his career with 1248 points. He is listed as a 2-star recruit on espn.com.

UCC Head Men's Basketball Coach Daniel Leeworthy had this to say about the signing of Draney," Marcus is a very talented multi-dimensional player that can score and defend at a high level.  He can take it inside or shoot from the outside.  He will be a great asset to our team."

The RiverHawk Men's Basketball team is coming off of an NWAC Southern Region Championship and a trip to the NWAC Final Four. They finished the season with a record of 20-10. Draney marks the 7th player signed to join the RiverHawks for the 2017-18 season.
