Former RiverHawk Transfers To Richmond University

Former Umpqua Community College Basketball star Jordan Madrid-Andrews has announced that he will sign with NCAA Division 1 Richmond University of the A10 Conference.  Richmond went 22-13, and 13-5 in the A10 last season.

Madrid-Andrews was a standout player for Coach Leeworthy where he was named as an NWAC All conference player after averaging over 12 Pts, 10 Rebounds, and shooting 52% from the field in 28 minutes of action.

After his RiverHawk career Madrid-Andrews signed at Division 1 Chicago State University where as a junior started 12 games shot over 50% from the field and averaged 4 points and 4 rebounds per contest.  Highlights from his junior year included a career high 14 points vs. Alabama State, and recorded 8 points and 5 rebounds vs. Marquette while matching up with future NBA first round pick and Detroit Piston Henry Ellenson.

Madrid-Andrews sat out last season following a car accident in his hometown of Denver, Colorado.  Remarkably Jordan was able to graduate with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Business Management, and plans to pursue a graduate degree in Human Resource Management at Richmond University.  As a graduate transfer Jordan will be eligible right away for competition.
