RiverHawks Add Guard

The Umpqua RiverHawk Men’s Basketball program has announced the signing of David Vasquez, a 6’1” guard, from Liberty High School in Hillsboro, Oregon. Vasquez averaged 19 points per game during his senior campaign at Liberty. David has spent time in both Oregon and Nevada and was named as the 15th best high school prospect in the state of Nevada as well as receiving a rating on ESPN.com. He is known as a versatile guard that can play multiple positions. Vasquez is a very good catch and shoot guard, as well as a solid shooter off of the dribble.

RiverHawk Coach Daniel Leeworthy had this to say about the Liberty High School senior, “David is a very strong, left-handed guard that will add depth to our talented group of returning players. He has a high basketball IQ and a knack for scoring the basketball”.

Along with his basketball talent, Vazquez will bring with him to UCC, a 3.50 grade point average.

The RiverHawks are coming off a Southern Region Championship and a trip to the NWAC Final 4. They finished the year with a 20-10 record.
