Former UCC Riverhawk (2013-15) Ashli Payne has signed a professional basketball contract to play for the Gold Coast Rollers in the Queensland (Australia) Basketball League.
At UCC Payne was named to the 2015 WBCA JC/CC All American Team (1st Team) and was twice named MVP of the NWAC Southern Region. As a sophomore she averaged 17.8 points and 10 rebounds a game. Ashli is currently UCC’s 6th all-time leading scorer and 3rd all-time leading rebounder.
After finishing her eligibility at UCC Ashli received a basketball scholarship to Div. 1 Eastern Washington University where she was a two year starter and one of the Big Sky Conference leaders in rebounding. This past season Ashli averaged 12.3 points per game and was EWU’s team leader in rebounds, free throws, and free throw percentage.
