Umpqua Community College Men's Wrestling Program is proud to announce the signing of local Roseburg product Garrett Russell for the 2018-2019 season. Garett is projected to wrestle 165 pounds for the RiverHawks next season. Russell was a 4-time state qualifier for Roseburg High School, losing in the blood round as a freshman and junior while taking 6th as a sophomore at 152 pounds and 3rd as a senior at 170 pounds. Garrett will be a multi-sport athlete for UCC, competing in baseball for the RiverHawks.as well.

Head Wrestling Coach Kyle Temple had the following to say about the signing of Russell, "I am excited to add a local product form one of the most storied programs in Oregon history. Garrett is a phenomenal athlete and his passion for athletics will be on display all next year for the RiverHawks. Garrett really wanted to play baseball and with the addition of the baseball program here at UCC it seemed a natural fit for Garrett to join our program. He will have the opportunity to compete here in wrestling next year while our baseball program redshirts everyone and then in the following year he can be a dual sport athlete for the RiverHawks."
