Umpqua Community College men's wrestling coach is proud to announce the signing of Jesse Ramirez of Liberty High School in Bakersfield California for the 2018/2019 season. Jesse is projected to wrestle 157 or 165 pounds for the RiverHawks next season. During Jesse's senior season at Liberty High School he held a season record of 33-16 at 170 pounds. Jesse placed 5th at the Coyote Classic, 2nd at the Cali Classic, 5th at the Bash, 3rd at Dinuba, 5th at the KCI, 4th in league, and 9th in Divisionals. Coach Temple had this to say about Jesse, "Jesse will bring some much needed fire power to our middle weight classes. Jesse comes from Bakersfield, California where many of the state of California's best programs hail from. Jesse is a hard worker, has a great passion for this sport, and will be able to immediately strengthen our line-up. Jesse will join former prep teammate Johnny Maldonado at UCC and help us build that strong California recruiting connection. Jesse was being recruited by several NAIA schools and I am excited that he chose to continue his education and athletic career in Douglas county at Umpqua Community College."
