RiverHawks Battle Grays Harbor

The Umpqua RiverHawk Men's Wrestling team hosted their first dual meet in more than 40 years, but camp up short, with a 34-24 loss to Grays Harbor College. The RiverHawks started the match with a forfeit at the 125lb. weight class and followed it up with a victory at 133lbs., as Grant laiblin pinned Raul Barajas with 1:36 left in the second round.

At 141lbs., Kobe Olson lost an 11-3 decision and was followed up by a loss at 149lbs., as Isaiah Lepre was pinned with 1:31 left in the first period.

Wyatt Kessler closed the scoring gap at 157lbs., as he pinned Stan Cruz with just :28 remaining in the first round. Ian Thomas and Christian Perez were each pinned at 165 and 174lbs., to increase the team score deficit.

Josh Hammers provided a convincing win at 184lbs., as he defeated Griffin Schoch by fall with 1:26 left in the 2nd round. At 197lbs., Brayden Schultz was deafetd by fall at the hands of Jack Dahlgren half-way through the second round.

To end the evening, Heavyweight Dallas O'Bryan defeated Tom Stieler of Grays Harbor by pinning him with 1:03 left in the second round, to provide the final tam scoring margin of 34-24.

In Exhibition matches, Hayden Juliano and Levi Summers both won by fall, as did UCC Women's Wrestling 130lber, Moira Sheldon.
