RiverHawks Battle in Bremerton

The Umpqua Community College Men's Wrestling team travelled to Bremerton, Washington to participate in the Gut Check Challenge and came away with a 1-2 mark in the dual meets.

Dual meet #1 had the RiverHawks pitted against the club team from Washington State University. With forfeiting matches at 2 different weight classes, the Cougars proved to be too much for Umpqua, as they posted a 30-21 victory. Grant Laiblin was victorious at 133lbs, with a 12-8 win, Kobe Olson won, 10-9, Josh Hammers won by a technical fall at 19-1, Brayden Schultz secured a 15-6 victory and Dallas O'Bryan won by fall.

Dual #2 was tough going, as the RiverHawks lost to Simon Fraser University 35-6. The only victory was a forfeit at 13lbs. for Grant Laiblin. Josh Hammers lost a close match at 7-5 and Dallas O'Bryan lost 4-3.

In the third dual meet of the evening, The RiverHawks come out on top of Pacific Lutheran University by a score of 33-15. Levi Summers and Braden Schultz won by fall and Dallas O'Bryan took home an 8-1 victory. Grant Laiblin and Kobe Olson also won exhibition matches during the dual, both by fall.

The RiverHawks are back in action on December 13th, as they travel to Warner Pacific University.
